At Riveredge Outdoor Learning Elementary School (ROLES) we strive to create an inclusive, curious, and engaged community in which the curriculum is brought to life through daily experiences in nature. Nestled within Riveredge Nature Center’s 410 acres, our tuition free public charter school is a laboratory for outdoor learning which amplifies the outcomes of public education, fosters a deep connection to the environment, and prepares students for success in school and life.  Driven by our three pillars – Inquiry, Nature and Community – we deliver a hands-on learning environment where curriculum is brought to life and curiosity is fostered each and every day through time in our natural world.

Pushing the boundaries of public education has its challenges, and funding shouldn’t be one of them.  Unfortunately, shortcomings in state and local public-school funding combined with gaps created by our high open enrollment rates do exist.  As do the unique needs that go well beyond traditional school supplies, with increased demand for cross-disciplinary professional development, proper outdoor gear for students and staff, outdoor safety trainings, adaptations of standard curriculum, durable teaching tools and so much more.

There are many ways to support ROLES vision to grow minds through nature.  Below are a few giving options.  For additional questions, contact Cindy Raimer at craimer@nosd.edu or 262-416-1726.

THE ANGEL FUND

The Angel Fund was established in 2023 to support students with various financial needs to have equitable access to learning opportunities by reducing financial barriers. School teachers or parents submit requests on behalf of individual students to the school administrator who will distribute funds based on needs and availability of funds.

Businesses and community members who wish to donate monetarily to support various financial needs faced by our students and their families may do so through the School’s Angel Fund. These needs include student fees, field trip costs, lost/damaged textbook fees, school supplies, clothing or hygiene items, and other miscellaneous needs that impact a child’s access to equitable learning and success.

Donors may also mail or drop off a check made out to The Riveredge School at P.O. Box 46, Newburg, WI 53060. Please be sure to add a note designating it to the Angel Fund.

If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Raimer, Director of Education, at 262-416-1726 or craimer@nosd.edu.
